Malachi Darius Teh and Cherry Delaney Teh are Singaporean siblings born ten years apart on October 2, 1996, and October 2, 2004. Their mother was a famous Hong Kong singer throughout the 1980s and 1990s, while their father was a well-known Singaporean actor. At home, they have always called their parents “Mama” and “Papa,” growing up surrounded by the entertainment industry from an early age.
With both parents already established in the industry, Darius and Cherry naturally followed the same path. Even as children, they occasionally joined film and television productions through their parents’ connections, becoming familiar with cameras, sets, and the people working behind them long before they were old enough to consider acting a career. Rather than attending traditional schools, both were homeschooled throughout their education, allowing them to balance their studies with filming and eventually complete their schooling while continuing to work in the industry.
Darius grew into an actor in his own right, building his career through film and television after years of experience in front of the camera. Eight years later, Cherry followed a similar path as an actress, having grown up watching and learning from both her parents and her older brother.
The siblings now live together in the same house in Singapore, separate from their parents. Despite their careers keeping them busy, they remain close and have retained the familiar dynamic they grew up with. At home, they are usually called by their Chinese names: Darius as 嘉Jiāyán and Cherry as Jiāníng. Cherry affectionately calls Darius “Iyus,” while Darius calls her “Eyi,” nicknames that have stuck between them over the years.
